Jeremy John Irons was born on September 19th, 1948. He began his career on the English stage at the Bristol Old Vic and then
debuted in London in Godspell, as John the Baptist, however became well known for his role as Charles Ryder in the television adaptation of Evelyn Waugh's Brideshead
Revisited in 1981. Jeremy Irons has
won an Oscar and has another 21 wins and 11 nominations to his name and is one of the few actors who has achieved the "Triple Crown of Acting" in the US, winning an Academy Award for film, an Emmy Award for television and a Tony Award for theatre.
