Chris Eubanks was born on 8th August 1966 and held both the WBO Middleweight
and Super Middleweight boxing titles. He was world champion for five years but despite this was declared bankrupt
in November 2005 owing 1.3 pounds million in taxes.
As he ruefully commented, "Not being born to parents who were accountants was
probably my biggest mistake." Eubanks remained undefeated at middleweight and his contests helped British boxing ride a peak of popularity in the 1990s, with Eubank's eccentric personality making him one of the most recognisable celebrities of the period.
