Pete Sampras is without doubt one of
the greatest tennis players of all time. Born on 12th August 1971
he won fourteen Grand Slam men single's titles before retiring
from top level tennis in 2002. On 17th July 2007 he was introduced
into the International Tennis Hall of Fame. Commenting on his
success, Sampras stated, "For so long people have just taken what I
do for granted. It is not easy to do year-in, year-out, to win
Grand Slams and be No. 1." And when asked how he
achieved his level of success, Sampras noted, "I let my racket do the
talking. That's what I am all about, really. I just go out and win
tennis matches."
