H G Wells Autograph

H G Wells was born Herbert George Wells on 21st September 1866 and is best known as a science fiction author although he is also remembered as a socialist and pacifist writer. Despite his fame, H G Wells spent a great deal of time, particularly in his later years, venting his frustrations at a range of targets including a neighbour who had erected a sign to a local club. But as Wells himself stated "The path of social advancement is, and must be, strewn with broken friendships." His fictional works predicted many inventions from the laser to email however some have yet to pass such as a machine that travels back in time, a man who turns invisible, and a Martian invasion that destroys southern England, so perhaps we can forgive him those lapses.
