Dire Straits are a British Rock band formed in 1977. To date they have sold
over 120 million albums, despite not being active since 1995. Their
hits include "Money for Nothing", "Brothers in Arms",
"Runnel of Love", "Sultans of Swing"
and our favourite "Romeo and Juliet".
After the spilt, founder, lead vocalist and lead guitar Mark Knopfler
started his career as a solo artist recording and producing six solo albums
of his own as well as producing albums for such artists as Tina Turner, Bob
Dylan, and Randy Newman.
