Ghandi was born on 2nd October 1869 and went on to become both the spiritual and political leader of India, having pioneered
satyagraha, resistance to tyranny through non violent mass civil disobedience. He was
assassinated on 30th January 1948. But for revenge, he had earlier stated "An eye for eye only ends up making the whole world blind." Ghandi was an inspiration across the world to civil rights activists. Martin Luther King once stated "Christ gave us the goals and Mahatma Gandhi the tactics." Actually, Mahatma was not Ghandi's real first name. He was born Mohandas Karamchand
