British born Stan Laurel and
US born Oliver Hardy are amongst the most popular and enduring comedy
duos in cinema history, with their roots firmly established in the
slapstick vein of comedy. Unlike other silent movie
stars, the jump to talkies in 1929 proved no problem for Laurel and
Hardy as both men had good voices and were more than competent actors.
Their influence down the generations has been profound with comedy
