Bela Lugosi, a Hungarian actor of stage and screen was born on October 20th, 1882 and is best remembered for his portrayal of Count Dracula.
Indeed the 1931 version of Dracula was the first talking horror film and perhaps the best film Bela Lugosi ever starred in. Sadly by 1955 his career had stalled and, coupled with a drug habit, he was later hospitalised weighing only 125 pounds and a shadow of his former self. He died on 16th August 1956.
