Alfred Hitchcock
was born on 13th August 1899 in England and died on 29th April 1980 having
moved to Hollywood becoming an American citizen in 1956. He directed more
than fifty feature films over six decades and is best known for his
suspenseful and psychological films, some of which have been subject to poor
remakes of late. Never fully
satisfied with his work, Hitchcock once wistfully commented "When you finish
the script, the film is perfect. But in shooting it you lose perhaps 40 per
cent of your original conception." However his films proved terrifying for generations of movie fans although he had his own fear, for Hitchcock suffered from ovophobia. In case you're not familiar with that terms it's a fear of eggs - and chicken eggs in particular terrified him. Them damn birds again!
